Snowy Plover line drawing, 9x12" ink and layout pencil on paper
Original line drawing of a western Snowy plover. These enigmatic birds are the official City shorebird of my hometown Marina!
9x12” illustration on mat board ready to frame. Shipped in a protective sleeve & protective envelope.
This original illustration was created with pen, ink, and graphite. This style represents my tighter, more detailed pen & ink style. Being a representational and abstract artist creates a tension between my methods. Years of training in classical drawing from life irreparably shifted my thinking about anything I encounter into the world into shapes and details if I choose to use that ‘lens’.
In this line drawing I kept a slight tension of abstraction by choosing stark detail to include/omit.
